Pro Breaking Tour

The Pro Breaking Tour is comprised of four tiers of events: Champions Series (the top tier events), Challenger Series (2nd tier), Futures Series (3rd tier) and Satellite Series (4th tier). The Pro Breaking Tour is operated by The Professional Breaking Tour, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of UDEF. For more information about the structure of UDEF and The Professional Breaking Tour, LLC, please click here: UDEF’s Structure. For promoters interested in becoming involved with the Pro Breaking Tour, the outline below summarizes the Tour’s basic guidelines, covering competition sanctioning, venue standards and other criteria. Competition: Standards for UDEF Sanctioning

1. The competitions at an event that are to be sanctioned by UDEF shall be breaking competitions, which include judging, subject to the judging criteria and guidelines outlined below, and include a DJ or band playing breaks music, or recorded breaks music.

For the avoidance of doubt, these requirements do not apply to any non-sanctioned competitions at an event in which one or more UDEF-sanctioned competitions may be hosted.

2. Judging Criteria for Competitions:

a) At least three judges must be used for any judged competition to be sanctioned by UDEF, all of whom must have had a competitive breaking and judging background. At least five judges must be used for Champions Series or Challenger Series level events on the Pro Breaking Tour.

b) The Event Organizer may not be a judge for any UDEF-sanctioned competition at the Event Organizer’s own event.

c) No member of the Event Organizer’s crew may be a judge at the Event Organizer’s event for a Champions Series or Challenger Series level event on the Pro Breaking Tour.

d) In all cases, the Event Organizer must use best efforts to hire judges free of conflicts of interest, and will recuse judges from voting in circumstances in which a crew conflict exists.

3. The competition flooring must be clean, safe, dry and at least five feet away from any un-padded barriers, columns or walls.

4. After the preliminary rounds or showcase, the judges, organizer and UDEF representatives must seed the then-remaining competitors for any UDEF-sanctioned competition.

5. Competitors in UDEF-sanctioned competitions must be UDEF members, who are currently registered with UDEF as Tour Competitors. (This requirement does not apply to non-sanctioned competitions at an event in which one or more UDEF-sanctioned competitions may be hosted.)

6. The Event Organizer must purchase or otherwise obtain special event insurance for the event, naming UDEF and affiliates as additional named insured, and must indemnify UDEF and affiliates.

7. The Event Organizer must agree to comply with and abide by the limitations upon digital rights assignment set forth in the UDEF Tour Competitor Agreement protecting Tour Competitors, and share digital rights to the event into perpetuity with UDEF and affiliates.

8. For each event involving a UDEF-sanctioned competition, the event’s marketing materials and social media must acknowledge UDEF’s sanctioning of the applicable competitions at the event, referencing the following: Sanctioned By UDEF

9. For each event involving a UDEF-sanctioned competition, the event’s marketing materials and social media must also acknowledge the Pro Breaking Tour, a property of UDEF, referencing the following: Pro Breaking Tour UDEFtour.org

10. UDEF may also endorse, organize, sanction, or otherwise support events, performances or workshops that are independent of competitions, and in such case, judges are not required and music is not restricted to breaks music.
